Role Of Obstetrician During Pregnancy What is an obstetrician? | santokhhospital

An obstetrician is a doctor who has special qualifications in providing special care to women during the pregnancy period and after the delivery of the babies also. They have the special training to treat the women with full care and to manage complex or high-risk pregnancies and births and can perform caesareans and interventions as per the situation. Many of them also know gynecology.

Job profile of an obstetrician
The primary duties of an obstetrician turn around during the pregnancy period of the women till birth and even after delivery. They are responsible to consult, treat, coordinate and perform deliveries. After the delivery of the baby, the obstetrician takes the proper follow up with the mother to make sure about the healing process of the mother. They also address if there are any complications present after delivering the child. You can choose a private obstetrician or a public hospital to see you throughout the pregnancy period. You must choose operativeobstetrics in Chandigarh if there is any medical need or complication. In the case of a private obstetrician, you have to make appointments and go through the process of routine ultrasounds.

Role of an obstetrician during your pregnancy period
If your planning to get prenatal care at a public hospital then you need to see an obstetrician only when you need it. You can also hire midwives if there is everything normal. You must hire specialist obstetrics if you have any past cases of high-risk pregnancies like miscarriage or abortion.
A private obstetrician does your antenatal check-ups. The obstetrician will usually:
  • Do the check-up to check your baby’s growth and position
  • Conduct or refer you for routine tests and checks if there is need of it
  • help you to prepare for labor during the birth of the child
Some obstetricians perform ultrasounds in their rooms and perform operative obstetrics in Chandigarh

Your obstetrician’s role during labor and birth
If your treatment is going on in a public hospital and everything is alright then you probably won’t need an obstetrician. But an obstetrician is always available to manage any complications or emergencies. In a private hospital, your obstetrician may visit you during your labor, but you’ll mostly be cared for by midwives. Your obstetrician will manage any complications during operative obstetrics in Chandigarh and some interventions and will attend the birth.
Role of obstetrician after the birth
A private obstetrician usually does the check-up of you before you leave the hospital. They will ask you to visit after 6 weeks for a check-up after birth. During this meeting, you can also discuss birth control and decisions about future pregnancies.

Steps Involved In Laparoscopic Operation | santokhhospital

Laparoscopic is a surgical diagnostic procedure that is used to examine the organs inside the abdomen. It is also known as diagnostic laparoscopy. A medical instrument called a laparoscope is used to look at abdominal organs with the camera that have it to perform the laparoscopic operation in Chandigarh

The process of performing the laparoscopic operation
Before the introduction of laparoscopic operation, there was open surgery in practice in which there was a need to make a 6 to 12 inches long cut on the belly. It gave them enough room to see what they were doing and reach whatever they had to work on.
After the introduction of a laparoscopic operation, the surgeon does not go for open surgery for removing an organ, taking a sample of tissue, or repairing an organ.

. The following steps are involved in the laparoscopic operation.
  • When the patient is asleep after anesthesia then surgeons make small cuts at the navel or nearby it.
  • Then a thin and hollow tube which is called trocar inserted into the cut. That tube is extended from inside to the outside of the abdomen.
  •  For the purpose of expanding the abdomen the carbon dioxide gas is injected into it. It helps the doctors to view the organs clearly as it allows more room.
  • After that, a medical instrument called a laparoscope is inserted into the abdomen through the trocar. This equipment has a high-intensity light and very tiny camera that helps the surgeon to view a large image from the camera on a TV screen in the operation theatre.
  • The other instruments which are required to perform the laparoscopic operation in Chandigarh are inserted into small incisions. The surgeon to perform the surgery manipulates these instruments.
  • After completion of the surgery, the surgeon removes the instruments from the abdomen.
  • The incisions are stitched closed. The bandages are placed over these incisions. If the incisions are very small then no need for stitches and only small strips of sterile tape are used for these.

Conclusion
There are many medical experiments are taking place in the field of medicine to make the operation smooth and hassle-free. Laparoscopic operation in Chandigarh is also one of them. It is time-saving technology and the recovery time is very less than to open surgery.
